Yep Appalachia is still playing... for at least another week.

I would think that if you believe the LPD is really the best district in boys baskeball, then you should expect the LPD to have at least one of the region titles if not both.

Which district is better in boys basketball? Pick one. The Clinch Mountain has the Division 2 championship. The Cumberland has the Division 1 championship. The Black Diamond had two of the four teams in the Division 2 quarterfinals.

I definitely couldn't say that the LPD was the best district in boys basketball. I think it was an overstatement to begin with.

But I think the LPD was competitive with the other districts this year. This was probably the best showing I've seen from the LPD in basketball since Gate City left the district.

As for the tournament itself, there is no denying that Lebanon and Castlewood earned the championships. You've got to give props to Honaker too. They made a helluva statement in the tournament.

We've had our disagreements, but cvcgrad hit on something I've thought the whole time since ElCaminoU69 created this thread...who, in their right mind on here, honestly posted that the LPD was the best basketball district this season?

Whoever it was deserves a banning. I don't think anyone thought/said this, even when Appy & PV were playing well in the regular season, mainly because none of the other teams did much of anything else in the district.

LOL you seem very confused about several things. So let me start by enlightening you on a couple of facts...

The LPD is my district and always has been. Unlike some, though, I understand the difference in being an LPD fan and being naive enough to make a statement that the LPD is the best basketball district and "no one else is even close." I know when other districts surpass us in particular sports. I also know that the LPD is at heart a football district and basketball is, at best, the third sport of choice.

Hell I never said they were the best in anything. I'm not even sure they're the best at anything other than closing school for minute amounts of snow. But some people are passionate enough and love their district enough to claim them as the best. It's ok you don't think they are but stop trying to change other people's opinions to match your's. Speak your piece and step off. If you're old enough you should know that people's opinions can be d?mn near impossible to change. So stop being a pr?ck already.
